ARRIVAL DAY

Day 1: VIENNA – LJUBLJANA
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast start exploring the city centre of Ljubljana. The old city center has a unique architectural appearance, particularly due to its mixture of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture with masterful creations by the 20th-century architect Jože Plečnik. The funicular will take us to the Castle of Ljubljana situated above the town. Time to admire the magnificent view, which on a sunny day stretches all the way to the Alps. We suggest ending the day with a boat cruise on the Ljubljanica River. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay.
DAY 2: LJUBLJANA – BLED – LJUBLJANA
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast, we drive to the Slovenian mountain area and visit the most renowned lake of Slovenia, Bled Lake. We explore the town of Bled, and visit the historical Bled Castle. After visiting the castle, we can take a ride on a pedal boat to the island, where you can make a wish while ringing the church bell (supplement). We take time to enjoy tasting “kremšnita”, the famous Bled cake. Check-in to the hotel. Free time for individual sightseeing. Afterward, we drive to the small village of Kranjska Gora and Planica, the valley of ski jumping hills, which is believed to be the cradle of ski jumping. Possible drive to Begunje to visit Avsenik museum of Slovenian country music and to have a tasteful local dinner. Drive back to Ljubljana. Free time to enjoy individual sightseeing, walking or shopping. Overnight.
DAY 3: LJUBLJANA – CELJE – OLIMJE – PTUJ-MARIBOR-LJUBLJANA
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerMorning departure to Celje. On the way to Celje stop in Trojane to taste the famous doughnut. On the way optional stop in Žalec. Possible stop at a beer fountain, the one and only in the world and taste of Slovenian local beers, from green to dark beer and to learn how to say ”Na zdravje”. We continue our journey to the Middle Ages – we visit the romantic, enticing, magnificent, dark and frightening Celje Old Castle. Finally, we visit Frederick’s Tower and enjoy a spectacular view of the city below. Following the castle tour is tour of Celje, the city famous for the Counts of Celje, who ruled on what is Slovenian territory today. Continue drive towards Olimije. A small city in the southern Slovenia, known for its thermal resorts and attractions which we will visit. First we are going to see the Chocholate factory placed in the old monastery. After, we will visit Jelenov Greben – One of the most famous deer farms in Slovenia. Free time for coffee and a lovely stroll among the deer.
Or continue to Ptuj and Maribor after visitng Celje:
Continue drive to Ptuj, where we begin our sightseeing of the town centre which is a historically important settlement, and continues with a stop at its ancient castle. In the castle takes place a Regional museum with numerous interesting collections, tapestries and small everyday objects once used by our ancestors. It also offers a breath-taking view of the city. Our next stop will be the second largest town of Slovenia and the capital of the Slovenian region of Lower Styria, Maribor. Upon arrival to Maribor will take a walk in the city centre, the embankment of the Drava River and through the lively streets and squares, where history and tradition are blended with dynamics and modernity. Let Lent, the oldest part of the town, enchant you with its Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world, the medieval towers, and remains of the old town walls. We also visit the Grajski trg Square with the castle and museum, the Glavni trg Square with the Plague monument and the Town hall, the Bishop Slomšek’s Cathedral with its viewing tower.
DAY 4: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA – LIPICA – SLOVENIAN COAST
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast, drive to Postojna, where we enter the famous underground world of the Postojna Cave. The cave attracts numerous tourists on a daily basis with its beautiful stalagmites, stalactites, “curtains” and other phenomena caused by water flowing through the limestone, as well as for it being home to the renowned “human fish”. Continue drive to Lipica and visit a stud farm with a more than 400-year-old tradition of breeding and selection of thoroughbred horses. Some free time to enjoy nature. End the day at Slovenian coast and visit Piran. This city with its rich cultural heritage resembles a large open-air museum with medieval architecture. Narrow streets and compact houses give the town its unique charm. Piran is one of Slovenia's major tourist attractions. Accommodation and overnight stay in Piran or Portorož. Overnight.
DAY 5: PIRAN – GORIŠKA BRDA - SOČA VALLEY – TOLMIN – SLOVENIAN COAST

Continue drive to Goriška brda, also known as Slovenian Tuscany is a fairy tale landscape, nested halfway between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, with abundance of beauties, attractions and experiences. The villages are mostly surrounded by the greenery of vineyards and orchards with roads, tracks and paths winding among them. Here on this green piece of the earth, the world-famous wines are produced. Possible stop at local winery for a taste of the region’s typical wines, such as merlot, chardonnay, sauvignon, cabernet… Soča valley, the most beautiful region in Slovenia. Will visit the Tolmin Gorge, where beautiful nature and water create magic colours and forms. A walk in nature, on the Emerald route, will fill you with energy. We continue to Kobarid, where you can visit the Kobarid museum of World War I, presenting a millennium of the turbulent history of Kobarid, and you can walk up a hill from which a beautiful view of an ossuary of Italian soldiers can be seen. Also possible to do short hike to waterfall Kozjak nearby. This popular natural sight creates the image of a heavenly corner hidden from the everyday world by tall, dark walls, covered in limestone sediments, just like in the karstic caves. Return to Piran or Portorož for overnight.

DAY 6: PORTOROŽ – PULA – ROVINJ – OPATIJA
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerBreakfast. We will continue our journey to Croatian Istria. First stop at Rovinj. Due to the legacy of the rich history and its particular location, Rovinj is one of the most attractive and beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. The town radiates in a unique beauty that attracts visitors from all over the world. Rovinj boasts charming stone-paved streets, houses with particular architectonic touches and roof terraces, Renaissance town walls, beautiful churches, galleries under the clear sky, and many seafood restaurants with a view to the endlessly blue sea. Continue the drive to Pula, the regional capital. We will stroll through the city district in the immediate vicinity to the Amphitheatre. Finish the day in Opatija, one of the most dazzling resorts on the Adriatic coast. Accommodation in a hotel and overnight.

DAY 7: OPATIJA – PLITVICE LAKES – SPLIT
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast we take some time to stroll along the beautiful promenade by the sea and simply enjoy in beautiful city of Opatija. The highlight of the day is the Plitvice Lakes that constitute an amazing natural site. Cascades and barriers are the result of continuous reforming of travertine terraces already for 10,000 years. We walk the Upper and Lower Lake of this natural wonder, the natural heritage of UNESCO. Drive to the coast area of Croatia to the town of Split. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in the area of Split.
DAY 8: SPLIT – ŠIBENIK – TROGIR – SPLIT

Stroll along the beautiful promenade and visit the enormous Diocletian's Palace, which takes us to the central part of the city that is even more interesting as it is a living-breathing space and not just a mere monument. Visit Šibenik, where we visit the St. James Cathedral built entirely out of stone. Some free time for a morning cup of coffee in a local café or some individual sightseeing. Continue our journey to one of the best preserved medieval ports along the Adriatic coast – Trogir. As stroll through the town with its white stone paved streets is a special experience as the town is included in the UNESCO’s List of World Heritage Sites. Overnight in Split.
DAY 9: SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK

Stroll along the beautiful promenade and visit the enormous Diocletian's Palace, which takes us to the central part of the city that is even more interesting as it is a living-breathing space and not just a mere monument. Continue drive to the little village of Ston which possibly has one of the longest walls you will ever see. We enjoy tasting local fresh oysters and listening to interesting stories of the local people. Then we drive to the narrow peninsula of Pelješac, well known for its local wine, and possible visit one of its wine cellars. Afternoon arrival to the pearl of the Adriatic – Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
DAY 10: DUBROVNIK
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast stary exploring the old town of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik has a walled historic center, which was reconstructed several times due to its tumultuous history of earthquakes and wars. The last attempt for its destruction occurred in 1991–92, when 2,000 mortar shells fell on the main street of Stradun and other monuments and bastions of the city. We see all the main tourist attractions and possible walk around the walls with total distance of over 2km. Overnight.
DAY 11: DUBROVNIK – BAY OF KOTOR (MONTENEGRO) – DUBROVNIK
Hotelbreakfast, lunch, dinnerAfter breakfast, we drive to the coast of Montenegro. About an hour's drive from Dubrovnik is located a 15-mile long UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, the Bay of Kotor. It is located between the mountains and the sea, and fringed with oleander, pomegranate and palm trees. The gulf is actually a submerged river canyon and one of the most spectacular sites in the world. There are several lovely medieval towns nestled in the bays that are inviting us to visit them, such as Kotor, once known as the “Bride of the Adriatic Sea”, protected by fortified walls, rich in ancient churches and splendid mansions. We can also visit Risan, the oldest town in the bay, with mosaics on the floor of a Roman villa, which were uncovered by English archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans. Return to Dubrovnik and overnight.
DAY 12: DUBROVNIK
